About The Position

Quant is seeking a Protocol Reliability Technical Lead to join their team in New York. This role focuses on the production readiness of Quant's protocol work, including permissioned EVM, rollup architecture, and contracts for issuing and settling regulated money. The individual will be responsible for the release process from development to deployment, coordinating external audits and managing remediation. A significant part of the job involves explaining complex chain behavior to non-protocol engineers, including reliability engineers, security engineers, and bank representatives.

Requirements

  • Deep Solidity and EVM experience, with contracts that held real value and underwent external audit.
  • Real understanding of rollup architecture mechanics.
  • Experience maintaining a fork of a large upstream codebase and understanding the long-term costs.
  • Ability to explain chain behavior to reliability engineers, security engineers, and banks.

Nice To Haves

  • Permissioned or enterprise EVM deployments.
  • Experience in settlement, payments, or tokenization (rather than consumer applications).
  • Public contributions to relevant projects.

Responsibilities

  • Own the production readiness of Quant's protocol work, including permissioned EVM, rollup architecture, and contracts for issuing and settling regulated money.
  • Manage the release train from written code to audited and deployed status.
  • Coordinate external audits for every release and manage the remediation process.
  • Make decisions about incorporating upstream code, holding code, and intentional divergence.
  • Explain chain behavior to reliability engineers, security engineers, and bank representatives.
