About The Position

National Star Services, a facility management company with 28 years of experience, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Protein Processing Specialist for a client facility in Chicago, IL. This full-time, temp-to-hire position requires working in a cold environment and performing physical, hands-on processing duties. Candidates must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role.

Requirements

• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is required to effectively communicate.
• Must be authorized to lawfully work in the US.
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
• Must be willing to undergo a Background Check.
• Must be available to start working as soon as possible.
• Must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Desire to learn, grow, and become part of a thriving team.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout the workday.
• Must be able to remain standing and active for extended periods of time.
• Must be comfortable working in a cold-temperature environment ranging from 0°F to 40°F.
• Must be comfortable working with knives and/or saws as required for protein processing.

Nice To Haves

• Previous food processing, meat processing, warehouse, or similar experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performing daily protein processing, which may include knife and saw work.
• Following specific customer requirements for cuts, portions, and packaging.
• Carefully picking, checking, and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintaining accurate and adequate inventory levels.
• Paying close attention to detail to ensure products meet quality and customer specifications.
• Operating processing equipment safely and properly.
• Cleaning and maintaining processing equipment on a daily basis.
• Following all workplace safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures.
• Performing other warehouse and processing duties as assigned.
