Are you ready to play a hands-on role in food safety, training and community impact? You support the success, safety and compliance of a protein processing and training program by preparing workspaces, guiding program participants and maintaining high food safety standards. You contribute directly to operational efficiency while helping participants build skills that support long-term employability and self-sustainment. What success looks like in the first 6–12 months includes maintaining a well-organized and compliant protein processing room, confidently training and supervising participant groups, partnering effectively with inspectors and internal teams and ensuring activities run safely, smoothly and on schedule. A typical day involves stocking and preparing necessary supplies for all program participant activities, ensuring product, pallets, boxes, tape and trash receptacles are set up and ready before tasks begin. It also includes adhering to PPE, sanitation and food safety guidelines, participating in cleaning, sanitation and regular testing, and partnering with the USDA inspector to maintain compliance. The role involves providing training and ongoing supervision for each participant group, ensuring new groups receive proper instructions and organizational information, and supervising continuous restocking of supplies during activities. Finally, it includes cleaning and preparing stations and break rooms for the next group, maintaining accurate records and activity reports, and supervising the work training program while communicating with the work training administrator to coordinate activities.
