About The Position

This position provides comprehensive support to students at Mt. Edgecumbe High School by fostering a positive residential environment, coordinating culturally grounded community programs, and promoting healthy lifestyles. The incumbent mentors students, supports residential life activities, facilitates culturally relevant programs that strengthen connections to heritage and traditions, encourages healthy lifestyle practices, and maintains accurate records and program documentation. Through these efforts, the position enhances student well-being, leadership development, cultural engagement, and overall residential life at MEHS. Mt Edgecumbe High School is an Advanced accredited public boarding school with 430 students from over 100 communities throughout Alaska. Most come from communities with schools enrolling fewer than 50 students: approximately 80% are Alaska Native. This diverse population results in a unique remarkable learning community – blending of cultures and beliefs, old ways and new, honoring the wisdom of the past while working together to forge the future. Our school is in Sitka, Alaska on Baranof Island.

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint-based background check per AS 47.32.101 and 7 AAC 10.900.
