Under the direct supervision of the National Gallery of Canada’s Duty Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and operating centralized Fire, HVAC, CCTV, and Security systems in a dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC). You will initiate and coordinate appropriate emergency response, and control all security communications, including multiple radio channels, Email, MS Teams, intercoms, and telephones. While not on duty in the SOC, you will conduct patrols of on and off-site storage locations, initiate investigations, inspections, write incident reports, and provide emergency response while not posted in the SOC. You will also be involved with security functions during various Special Events and VIP functions. The National Gallery uses a hybrid security force with a core in-house Protection Services team and a separate contract guard force. We are a client-facing institution, and you will be actively interacting with the public to resolve and de-escalate potential issues.
