Requirements

  • Two (2) years (3450 hours) training/experience working as a Prosthetics & Orthotics Technician under the supervision of an on-site Certified professional (or registered technician) prior to becoming registered
  • Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician Program
  • Registered Technician in Orthotics
  • Registered Technician in Prosthetics
  • Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
  • Basic - Computer skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Registered with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada as a Registered Technician in Orthotics and/or a Registered Technician in Prosthetics

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates/repairs artificial limbs and braces (prostheses or orthoses) to provide maximum fit, function, appearance and workmanship.
