Requirements
- Two (2) years (3450 hours) training/experience working as a Prosthetics & Orthotics Technician under the supervision of an on-site Certified professional (or registered technician) prior to becoming registered
- Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician Program
- Registered Technician in Orthotics
- Registered Technician in Prosthetics
- Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
- Basic - Computer skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills
- Communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Registered with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada as a Registered Technician in Orthotics and/or a Registered Technician in Prosthetics
Responsibilities
- Fabricates/repairs artificial limbs and braces (prostheses or orthoses) to provide maximum fit, function, appearance and workmanship.
