About The Position

Pennsylvania ACT 86 of June, 2016, allows current students enrolled in a qualifying teacher preparation program, working toward Pennsylvania Certification, to work as a substitute teacher. The Prospective Teacher Substitute provides students with a safe and effective learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher and to provide students with meaningful and appropriate instruction in accordance with the lesson plans provided.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Pennsylvania State college or university.
  • Must be enrolled in a qualifying Teacher Preparation Program.
  • Must have acquired 60 college credits to date.
  • All required clearances must comply with the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s mandated criteria for hire.
