As the Ordnance Engineering Manager, you will manage definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements, task delegation, coordination and execution of hardware designs, development and integration of hardware custom and procured hardware and systems in accordance with engineering process specifications. Ensure designs adhere to Common Integrated Processes as documented in Command Media, and drive process improvement into the design culture. Provide solution based technical mentoring to improve program performance and to drive error free design using proven tools, processes and predictive measures. In this role you can expect to: - Work collaboratively with the program and functional senior leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments and rotations to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills - Drive performance management, career development, and personnel related activities - Ensure SSC’s standard technical processes and tools, best practices, and training are available and properly implemented on the program. - Further develop layouts, using advanced composites and aerospace metallic materials for flight structures and weldments. Requirements

  • Fundamental understanding of propulsion aerospace hardware systems and processes
  • Understanding of Ordnance hardware design, analysis, manufacture or test and integration
  • Experience with requirement development and management
  • Previous experience leading a team
  • Schedule/planning experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical CAD modeling and drafting
  • Ability to work functional duties with limited budget
  • Desire and ability to own technical challenges through solution
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; US citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Ordnance subsystem expertise
  • Experience guiding the successful completion of major programs and functioning in a project leadership role
  • Hardware experience, including design, analysis, assembly, Integration and Test
  • Experience using EPDM Windchill, SAP and design tools
  • Knowledgeable at a systems level in the areas of stress, propulsion, harness routing, strength of materials, subcontracts, electrical design/analysis, transportation, and launch operations
  • Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers
  • Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Lockheed Martin Command Media related to system design and analyses
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality…)
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
