About The Position

This is for the LCAC 100 Program. The Propulsion Mechanic will ensure the operations and maintenance of all gas turbine and propulsion related systems to aid the success of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on base. This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, installation and testing of all those systems.

Requirements

  • High School Degree Required
  • NAVSEA GS A-School or equivalent required
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • COEM connector specific training required
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar role
  • At least five (5) years of experience with gas turbines, aviation, marine propulsion or mechanical maintenance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance documentation, inspection processes, safety procedures, and technical work instructions
  • Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • High level problem-solving and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Project management principles and practices
  • Ability to work with various levels of personnel including senior leadership
  • Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, remove, install and test all gas turbine and propulsion-related systems
  • Support gas turbine engine maintenance and repair requirements
  • Provide hands-on cleaning, inspections for all systems and report back accordingly
  • In charge of propulsion availability recovery
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational needs, system readiness, and safety considerations.
  • Manage the scheduling and execution of preventative, corrective, and emergent maintenance activities.
  • Implement and manage maintenance quality assurance practices to ensure conformance to technical, safety, and procedural standards
  • Evaluate performance, maintain accountability, and foster a culture of safety and high technical standards
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission focus across the team
  • Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
