About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Assembler (Level B) to join the Propulsion Team in Ladson, South Carolina on a Variable shift. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Ladson, SC (PSC). To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Requirements

  • Availability to work variable shifts, with the understanding that your assigned shift will not be confirmed until after training
  • 1+ year experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures
  • 1+ year of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications
  • 1+ year of experience following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
  • Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel
  • Ability to lift 35-40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and equipment using manual or automated assembly tools
  • Model a culture of One Team, Pride, and Ownership
  • Partner with Integrated Build Teams (IBTs) and Team Leaders to mitigate performance risks using Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) methodologies
  • Identify roadblocks and production constraints; escalate unresolved issues through open and clear communication
  • Use KPI and BPS principles to improve production flow and work environment
  • Support overtime as required to meet customer commitments
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing Systems (LMS) and 5S activities
  • Support teammates by providing cross-training and mentoring to improve overall team performance
