Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Propulsion Engineer – Level 2 or 3 to join our team at our Palm Beach Gardens, Florida location to support the Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) business unit. The Northrop Grumman PS&C business unit is based in Elkton, Maryland and began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The Palm Beach Gardens location is the Air-breathing propulsion center of excellence specializing in the design, analysis and system integration of ramjets, scramjets and other advanced air-breathing propulsion systems. Palm Beach Gardens, Florida is located a very short distance from the Atlantic Ocean. You would be close to many top beaches, fishing, inland eco-tours, shopping, and restaurants. Requirements

• Requires Bachelors in STEM plus 2 years of related experience or Master’s Degree in STEM, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software
• Knowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Requires Bachelors in STEM plus 5 years of related experience or Master’s Degree in STEM plus 3 years of experience or PhD in STEM plus at least 1 year of experience, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Siemens NX

Nice To Haves

• Current active Security Clearance
• Working knowledge of NX
• Knowledge of general machine shop fabrication processes, additive manufacture experience desirable
• Understanding of design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM)
• Ability and willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Performs design of one or more moderately complex or portions of structural components and functional systems
• With limited supervision, applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of more complex components, structures, and sub-assemblies
• Responds in a timely manner to all requests and explores all avenues within authority and makes appropriate referrals to other sources
• Makes thoughtful and valuable suggestions and recommendations for improving own work and/or group’s work
• Establish requirements for materials, structural components, and functional systems
• Release results as design data after review from other engineers
• Document results of design activities
