About The Position

At ReLogic Research, you won't be just another headcount. We're a tight-knit team of engineers, physicists, and technical professionals solving some of the most complex challenges in national defense — and we're looking for engineers with a passion for energetics and solid rocket motor propulsion at any stage of their career. As an AS9100D-certified small business supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Missile Defense Agency, we move fast, trust our people, and give engineers meaningful ownership of their work. Unlike larger organizations, you'll have direct visibility into programs and real impact on the work from day one. We are actively transitioning proven low-cost alternative solid rocket motor technologies into prototype systems and programs of record. This is hands-on propulsion work — from propellant formulation and characterization through static fire testing and eventual flight — and we're building the team to get it done.

Requirements

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Background or coursework in energetics, propellant chemistry, combustion, or solid rocket motor propulsion
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a hands-on laboratory and manufacturing environment
  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Nice To Haves

  • MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with solid rocket motor propellant formulation, mixing, or casting
  • Familiarity with propellant characterization techniques including burn rate testing, DSC, and rheology
  • Experience with solid rocket motor ballistic modeling or internal ballistics analysis tools
  • Familiarity with energetics safety standards and handling procedures including OSHA and DoD explosives regulations
  • Experience supporting static fire testing or motor qualification activities
  • Familiarity with JANNAF propulsion standards and processes
  • Experience at or with government propulsion laboratories such as AFRL, DEVCOM, or NASA Marshall

Responsibilities

  • Support solid rocket motor propellant development, formulation, characterization, and processing activities
  • Assist in the development and transition of automated propellant casting processes and related manufacturing technologies
  • Support small-scale static fire testing including test planning, execution, instrumentation, and post-test data reduction
  • Contribute to propellant safety documentation, hazard analysis, and energetics handling procedures
  • Support propellant grain design, ballistic analysis, and motor performance predictions
  • Collaborate with motor case, TPS, and integration teams to support full motor development and transition
  • Contribute to test plans, procedures, and post-test analysis in support of technology maturation milestones
  • Support proposal development and technical documentation as needed

Benefits

  • highly competitive compensation based on experience and skills
  • comprehensive benefits
  • opportunities for career growth
