About The Position

Cultivate Initiatives is a group dedicated to empowering individuals and communities on the margins through an inclusive range of initiatives and support. They build communities from the inside out by focusing on workforce development, housing and homemaking, and supportive sheltering.

Requirements

  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License is required
  • Knowledgeable in Fair Housing laws and landlord-tenant regulations
  • Proven ability to meet and engage with individuals from diverse cultural and identity backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ communities
  • Experience in trauma-informed care, safety awareness, and de-escalation techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Tenant Tech or other leasing softwares
  • Strong organization and recordkeeping skills; ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibit a strong discipline for personal time management
  • Must be able to provide proof of valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience in property management, leasing or Property Management licensed
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed
  • RentWell Instructor Certification

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between CI, external property management staff, and/or leasing agents regarding leasing opportunities.
  • Provide coaching, tools, and ongoing support to Housing Specialists on intake assessments, leasing standards, and move-in procedures.
  • Provide tools and support to Homemaking Specialists on conflict resolution, budgeting, and landlord communication.
  • Plan and support all aspects of lease-up and move-in day to ensure a smooth process for neighbors and staff.
  • Assess and report on housing placement and homemaking outcomes to managers and directors.
  • Oversee properties, ensuring effective management practices and timely maintenance updates.
  • Develop and maintain property management systems, policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate RentWell workshops and classes and provide community resources to neighbors.
  • Collaborate with property managers and housing team members to address resident concerns, lease compliance issues and any housing stability needs.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the unit turnover, coordinating inspections, maintenance, vendors, cleaning, and final preparations to ensure units are move-in ready.
  • Research and cultivate affordable rental leads and build strong relationships with property managers and other housing provider organizations.
  • Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
  • Conducts self within appropriate and expected professional boundaries and policies.
  • Maintains confidentiality and earns others’ trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Represent Cultivate Initiatives to partners, the Multnomah County Homeless Services Department, and the broader community.
  • Attend all assigned trainings, events and community outreach activities, unless otherwise approved.
  • May participate in special projects and activities requested by the Housing & Homemaking Director.
