About The Position

This position resides in the Property Assessment Division of Department of Revenue. The Property Record Specialist (PRS) performs various duties assigned by management. They ensure that property values in the county are accurately recorded, regularly updated, and certified each year for fair and accurate property tax billings. This role supports taxpayers, county officials, and other stakeholders by maintaining reliable property records, processing ownership and sales information, and assisting with taxpayer programs and appeals.

  • One year of job-related experience. Work experience may include appraisal, assessment, auditing, accounting, banking, data entry, bookkeeping, records management, customer service or a real estate related field.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be a primary resident of Montana as a condition of employment.
  • Must meet and sustain Department of Revenue telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • A valid driver's license is required with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months.
  • Successful applicants are required to successfully pass DOR tax and background check(s).
  • Must pass the department’s CORE Assessment training, within the first year of employment.
