About The Position

The Property Assessment Division (PAD) manages Montana’s property assessment and valuation of all taxable property for property tax purposes. PAD is comprised of the Geographic Information System Unit, Program Support Unit, Valuation Unit, Industrial Unit, Division Administration team, and approximately 30 local field offices in various counties in Montana. This position resides in the Property Assessment Division of Department of Revenue. The Property Record Specialist (PRS) performs various duties assigned by management. They ensure that property values in the county are accurately recorded, regularly updated, and certified each year for fair and accurate property tax billings. This role supports taxpayers, county officials, and other stakeholders by maintaining reliable property records, processing ownership and sales information, and assisting with taxpayer programs and appeals.

Requirements

  • One year of post-secondary education or training
  • One year of job-related experience (appraisal, assessment, auditing, accounting, banking, data entry, bookkeeping, records management, customer service or a real estate related field)
