About The Position

Schochet is seeking an experienced Property Manager to join our team at Faulkner Tower in Somerville, MA! Faulkner Tower is a 130-unit elderly apartment community located in Somerville, MA. Join a company with more than 50 years of experience dedicated to employee growth, development, and retention. The Property Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the community, including staff supervision, resident relations, financial management, compliance, and property operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of multifamily property management experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Section 8.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, and develop property management staff.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer-service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • COS and ARM designation preferred.
  • Previous Yardi experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and support all property staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct annual employee performance reviews.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, prospective residents, vendors, employees, and the surrounding community.
  • Respond to and follow up on resident concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee rent calculations, rent collections, delinquency notices, and related legal actions when necessary.
  • Manage subsidy collections and resolve collection-related issues.
  • Oversee and/or assist with annual and interim resident recertifications.
  • Ensure all recertifications are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Develop, manage, and adhere to the property's annual budget.
  • Complete required annual inspections and monthly reports.
  • Ensure the property operates efficiently while maintaining compliance with applicable housing regulations and company standards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the property and residents.
