About The Position

For more than six decades, A.J. Dwoskin & Associates has owned and managed communities throughout Northern Virginia. We're looking for a Property Manager who leads with ownership, not just oversight. You'll be the visible leader of your community — developing your team, creating an exceptional resident experience, protecting the asset, and driving strong operational and financial performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive property management experience, including at least 2 years leading a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of the resident rental lifecycle, property operations, customer service, and financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach employees, address performance issues, and build accountable teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to maintain an active, visible presence throughout the property.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant professional designation preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the on-site administrative, leasing, and maintenance teams.
  • Create a strong resident experience that supports satisfaction, retention, and the reputation of the community.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the property and ensure the community consistently meets AJD standards.
  • Manage property financial performance, including budgets, expenses, revenue, and P&L results.
  • Monitor leasing activity, occupancy, resident retention, and other key performance indicators.
  • Ensure accurate and timely operational and financial reporting.
  • Manage risk, compliance, vendor relationships, and adherence to company policies and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Partner with senior leadership and other AJD teams to identify opportunities to strengthen property performance.
