About The Position

Multifamily Property Managers are responsible for maintaining our affordable communities to the highest standard, always ensuring a high-level of service. Multifamily Property Managers are also responsible for motivating high-performing teams to maximize the performance of the affordable property. This role ensures the smooth running of our affordable community in a fast-paced environment. It oversees all operations including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, and audits. The role provides superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to enhance customer satisfaction and increase renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability. It also involves developing, mentoring, leading, and managing a high-performing, cohesive team, including leasing, customer service, maintenance, and management personnel, in order to maximize their engagement and minimize turnover. Driving revenues with a thorough understanding and analysis of competition and development of creative marketing programs is key. The role leads by example, instilling, maintaining, and modeling Cushman & Wakefield’s mission to be the best national management company. It supervises the day-to-day operations of the entire on-site team, ensuring that all policies and procedures are being followed, and maintains an effective on-site staff through interviewing, hiring, and coaching team as necessary. Residents' files are maintained in accordance with company's standards, and a positive living environment for affordable community residents is maintained through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow-up. The role also manages and maintains all aspects of the overall community budget and finances, and works with leasing staff to ensure that leasing/marketing goals are being met.

Requirements

  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Computer literate, including Yardi, Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation skills
  • General office, bookkeeping and sales skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Determine leasing opportunities of staff and work on goal setting, improving the performance of each staff member.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of team, ensuring that all C&W policies and procedures are followed.
  • Work with leasing staff to ensure that leasing/marketing goals are being met.
  • Be able to manage a team
  • 3+ years of Property Management experience required, including 1+ years Affordable focused, LIHTC, tax credit property alignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Washington D.C. Real Estate License preferred.
  • Yardi systems experience preferred.

  • Complete lease/renewal paperwork to ensure completion to company standards.
  • Track and evaluate advertising, and all client traffic.
  • Developing, mentoring, leading, and managing a high-performing, cohesive team, including leasing, customer service, maintenance, and management personnel, in order to maximize their engagement and minimize turnover.
  • Driving revenues with your thorough understanding and analysis of competition and development of creative marketing programs.
