About The Position

We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Controller to serve as the day-to-day accounting leader for our growing multifamily property portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in environments where they can build, improve, and lead — not just maintain existing processes. You will own financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and drive accuracy and accountability across the organization. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA required
6+ years of progressive accounting experience (multifamily or real estate strongly preferred)
Proven experience leading month-end close and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
Experience with property management accounting systems (Yardi preferred)
Strong communicator with the ability to partner cross-functionally
High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
Ability to operate independently with ownership and accountability

Responsibilities

Overseeing full-cycle accounting operations for a multifamily property portfolio
Managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close across multiple sites and budgets
Reviewing financial statements, general ledger activity, accruals, and reconciliations
Ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting standards
Partnering with the CFO on reporting, audits, and strategic initiatives
Supporting property operations with accurate, reliable financial data
Improving accounting workflows and strengthening internal controls as the company scales
Leading, mentoring, and reviewing the work of accounting team members
Supporting acquisitions, transitions, and system improvements
Serving as the escalation point for complex accounting matters
