The Property Maintenance Technician supports the upkeep, appearance, safety, and functionality of lodge buildings, guest spaces, grounds, and outdoor infrastructure. Reporting to the Property & Systems Lead, this role focuses primarily on general property maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, and operational support in a remote wilderness environment. This is a hands-on position requiring adaptability, practical maintenance skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to work in a dynamic northern setting. Seasonal staff may also support guest-facing operations or guiding activities when operationally appropriate and when property maintenance priorities are fully covered.

Requirements

  • General maintenance, labour, or property upkeep experience
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical work outdoors
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Comfortable living and working in a remote northern environment

Nice To Haves

  • Carpentry, construction, painting, or general trades experience
  • Previous remote lodge, camp, hospitality, or outdoor operations experience
  • Experience operating small equipment or power tools
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • First Aid certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine repairs and upkeep across lodge buildings, guest cabins, and staff accommodations
  • Complete basic carpentry, painting, patching, and minor repair work
  • Support preventative maintenance programs for lodge facilities and property assets
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe workspaces
  • Identify and report maintenance concerns requiring escalation
  • Perform snow removal and ice management around operational areas
  • Maintain trails, outdoor spaces, docks, decks, and access routes
  • Cut, split, stack, and transport firewood
  • Support seasonal setup and maintenance of outdoor infrastructure
  • Assist with freight handling and material movement
  • Support lodge setup and operational readiness during guest changeovers
  • Assist contractors and external service providers working on site
  • Support general operational projects as required
  • Follow safe work practices and company procedures
  • Support environmental stewardship and waste management initiatives
  • Work collaboratively within a small remote lodge team
  • Assist other departments during peak operational periods
  • Support guest-facing or guiding activities when operationally appropriate
