Everest has established itself as one of the foremost facultative markets in the United States. To support this, we are currently looking for a Property Facultative Underwriter. Responsibilities will include building and maintaining direct and intermediary business relationships where opportunities are cultivated, underwritten, and bound at your general discretion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Property Underwriter with various occupancies including large accounts.
  • Excellent marketing skills and established relationships with insurance companies.
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills with the ability to flourish in a team environment.
  • The ability to interpret engineering reports.
  • The ability to interpret catastrophe modeling and actuarial methodologies and output.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with catastrophe models a plus.
  • Property Facultative experience preferred.
  • Experience with specialty business is also preferred (power generation, mid-stream production, refining/petrochemical, specialty chemicals, renewables, and mining).
  • Prior Reinsurance experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • New business production and renewal underwriting as well as adherence to underwriting rules and guidelines and developing strong customer relationships through providing top-notch service.
  • Work with all functional areas of the company including claims, accounting, and product management to support company objectives.
  • Ability to travel. This individual would be expected to spend time on the road after the initial training process.
  • Marketing that includes travel monthly or as needed, to assigned markets and territory.
  • Build relationship with ceding companies and reinsurance intermediaries
  • Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace.
