About The Position

We are currently seeking a Property Cleaner to support day‑to‑day cleaning operations at Avalon Park - a vibrant, family‑oriented community in Ottawa’s St. Laurent neighbourhood just east of downtown. This hands‑on role is ideal for an energetic, reliable cleaner committed to supporting a community of more than 800 residents, where you’ll play a key role in maintaining modern, high‑quality living spaces.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in commercial or residential cleaning, janitorial services, or housekeeping is considered a strong asset, but is not required.
  • Comfortable working both independently and part of a team.
  • Ability to perform a variety of repetitive physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Basic English verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly, respectable, and community-minded with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check.
  • Ability to provide professional references and have a proven record of reliable work attendance.

  • The ideal candidate lives close enough to Avalon to respond quickly to emergency resident inquiries (within about 10–15 minutes).

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, laundry rooms, and common areas to ensure high hygiene standards.
  • Empty garbage and ensure that waste is disposed of safely and properly.
  • Perform occasional deep cleaning including scrubbing baseboards, cleaning appliances, and refinishing floors.
  • Respond to any cleaning work orders submitted by the property management team.
  • Occasionally engage in snow removal during winter months.
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the property operations team.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use all assigned personal protective equipment appropriately.
