As a Property Accountant, you'll be a key member of our accounting team. In this role, you will initiate, assist with, and complete the processing of complex financial and budget transactions and manage all accounting procedures for an assigned portfolio of affordable housing properties to ensure Bellwether Housing's overall financial health. You will also be responsible for computing and processing closing entries, owning these processes, and producing reliable, timely audit and management reports, along with variance analyses. Additionally, you will coordinate the collections process for accounts receivable to maximize recovery. As a Property Accountant, you should possess a strong understanding of the accounting cycle and the US GAAP. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and deep knowledge of affordable housing regulations, including LIHTC, HUD, and other federal subsidy program requirements.
