Property Accountant Do you have a passion for numbers and financial analysis? Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while honing your accounting skills? As a Property Accountant, you’ll be at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and contributing to the success of our properties. You will serve as the first point of contact for on-site teams and be responsible for delivering administrative and technical accounting support to the Property Management team. In this role, you will maintain financial reports, accounting records, and general ledgers, analyze budgets, perform bookkeeping, and handle property accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • 3+ years of experience in property accounting, general accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Clear and effective communicator who thrives in collaborative environments.
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, ledgers, and balance sheets regularly.
  • Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with property managers to address financial inquiries and provide support.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable for assigned properties.
  • Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Respond promptly to financial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
