About The Position

MetCap Living Management Inc. is one of the largest private third-party property managers specializing in multi-residential property management. We are a growth-orientated company with our head office located in Toronto, Ontario, and property operations in Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec and Nova Scotia. MetCap Living Management Inc. has an immediate opening for a Property Accountant at our Head Office located in Downtown Toronto.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with experience in Property Management preferred
  • CPA designation, equivalent or working towards it
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient Excel skills
  • Self-directed and takes initiative
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Punctual, strong verbal and oral communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Detail oriented

Responsibilities

  • Handle full accounting cycle for a portfolio of residential real estate properties
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages including financial statements, actual to budget variance analysis, balance sheet analysis
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and reconciliation of control accounts (accounts receivable, accounts payable, last month’s rent, LMR interest) to subsidiary ledgers, intercompany balances
  • Ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed
  • Prepare annual budget package including coordination with other departments for receipt of budget data on a timely basis
  • Coordinate with accounts payable/revenue accountant/operations to ensure monthly cutoff procedures are in effect for payables and revenues
  • Prepare and filing of HST returns on a timely basis
  • Prepare annual year-end audit working papers and liaison with the auditors during the fieldwork period
  • Maintain various books and records and files
