About The Position

As the Property Accountant, you will be responsible for journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, accounts receivable, and daily and monthly cash disbursements and receipts. You will reconcile Accounts Receivable, security deposits, and rent roll to financial statements for all properties. You will also prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, prepare monthly journal entries, financial statement preparation, and bank reconciliations. Additionally, you will assist with annual budget preparation by compiling key assumptions and capital budget information, analyze general ledger accounts, and review ledger accuracy. You will oversee the Accounts Payable function, manage cash functions effectively, and research and respond to inquiries from Property Managers concerning tenant statements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of real estate databases, transaction processes, including contract reviews
  • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience in accounting for multifamily real estate
  • Proficiency in Excel and Yardi
  • Ability to represent company in a professional manner
  • Bachelor's Degrees in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
