About The Position

American Landmark is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant with Multi-Family accounting experience to be based out of their Tampa, FL, Corporate office. American Landmark is one of the fastest-growing multifamily owner-operators in the United States. The Property Accountant will conduct full cycle accounting functions for a portfolio of multifamily properties, working closely with property and regional managers on all financial matters. Additionally, the role involves providing accurate and timely financial information to internal departments, external auditors, investors, and lenders.

Requirements

  • College Degree
  • Bachelors in Accounting
  • 2-3 years of property accounting experience
  • Technical or Administrative Knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines is essential
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, as well as interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA not required but preferred
  • Realpage/Onesite experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain GAAP financials for 12-15 multifamily properties
  • Prepare and maintain monthly workpapers including balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Analyze and review property operating statements and balance sheets including month end accruals and reclasses
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Prepare monthly investor reporting packages
  • Record monthly depreciation and amortization
  • Update quarterly audit workpapers and prepare reporting packages for quarterly audit including SOX backup requirements
  • Prepare quarterly and/or monthly lender reporting
  • Prepare replacement reserve packages for lenders
  • Generate year end workpapers and coordinate with external auditors on the year end audits
  • Assist in the annual budget process
  • Perform special projects as needed and provide support to the accounting and property management teams
