About The Position

The Property Accountability Specialist (Level 9) is responsible for conducting physical inventories of assigned Government property, verifying property information, and maintaining accurate property records. This role serves as the primary point of contact for property accountability within assigned organizations and processes routine property changes. The specialist will also assist with property transfers, clean-up efforts, and provide customer support to ensure proper accountability of Government property.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and 4 years of general experience required.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • BS/BA degree will substitute for 4 years' experience.
  • Associate's degree will substitute for 2 years' experience.
  • Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical inventories of assigned Government property using barcode scanners and approved property accountability systems.
  • Coordinate inventory schedules with supported organizations to minimize disruption to daily operations.
  • Verify property information, including barcode, location, assigned user, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare, route, and maintain DA Form 2062 sub-hand receipts and other required property records.
  • Update ASTS and electronic files to ensure property records remain accurate and current.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day property accountability contact for assigned organizations.
  • Process routine property changes involving users, locations, transfers, shipments, turn-ins, and newly received items.
  • Coordinate with supported personnel to resolve routine property discrepancies and record changes.
  • Notify the HR Lead or Logistics/Deputy Operations Manager of missing property, unusual discrepancies, or issues requiring additional review.
  • Participate in regular planning meetings with HR Leads to coordinate inventory activities and priorities.
  • Assist with property transfers, turn-ins, pickups, deliveries, and movement of equipment between organizations.
  • Support property clean-up and reconciliation efforts as needed.
  • Maintain organized and complete electronic property records.
  • Perform inventory activities in offices, laboratories, storage areas, and other workspaces while minimizing disruption to customer operations.
  • Operate box trucks, forklifts and other equipment when trained and authorized.
  • Provide responsive customer support and help supported organizations maintain proper accountability of Government property.
