About The Position

LP Propane is currently seeking a Propane Service Technician. This position is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the division. LP is a local propane distributor servicing residential and commercial customers in South Eastern Idaho. Our Propane Service Technicians will Install, maintain, inspect, repair propane tanks, and service all propane systems and appliances. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe and reliable propane service for residential, agricultural, and commercial customers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to safety and customer service.

Nice To Haves

Experience in propane, HVAC, plumbing, gas utility, construction, or mechanical trades.
CETP certifications or willingness to obtain certifications.
CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
Experience operating service trucks and equipment.
Knowledge of propane systems, gas piping, and pressure testing procedures.
Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Install propane tanks, regulators, piping, and related equipment.
Conduct leak tests, pressure tests, and safety inspections.
Troubleshoot and repair propane system issues.
Perform tank set installations and service work according to company and industry standards.
Educate customers on propane safety and equipment operation.
Complete required service documentation and work orders.
Respond to service calls in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working condition.
Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
