Propane Service Technician

About The Position

This role involves installing propane tanks and related equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. The technician will also be responsible for daily vehicle inspections, accurate documentation of service orders, and providing seasonal delivery support. The position requires working in varied outdoor conditions and participating in an on-call rotation. The first 30 days will focus on shadowing a senior technician, completing onboarding training, and beginning supervised installations to build proficiency.

Requirements

Class A OR B CDL
Tanker and Hazmat endorsements (or ability to obtain quickly)
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
TSA Clearance Approved Hazardous Materials
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and participate in after-hours on-call rotation

Nice To Haves

2–3 years of experience in propane, HVAC, or related technical work
Familiarity with propane systems, NFPA standards, and industry regulations
Technical aptitude and willingness to learn propane installation practices
Strong customer communication and professional presence
Basic computer skills for service orders and documentation

Responsibilities

Install propane tanks and related equipment in full compliance with NFPA 58/54 and all state/local regulations.
Complete any required state licensing, certifications, and ongoing training.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections (DVIR) and maintain your truck in excellent working condition.
Complete accurate service orders, documentation, and parts billing each day.
Provide seasonal delivery support by operating a delivery vehicle when needed.
Report any incidents or safety concerns immediately to the General Manager.
Work in varied outdoor conditions and participate in an on-call rotation as business needs require.
