About The Position

Campbell Oil Company is seeking a Propane Service Technician to join their growing team. This role is responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and servicing of propane systems and related equipment for residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while representing the company professionally. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of propane service or gas installation experience preferred.
  • Current CETP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work outdoors in various conditions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, safety-focused, and detail-oriented.

  • 2+ years of propane service or gas installation experience

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair propane systems including tanks, regulators, piping, appliances, and related equipment in accordance with NFPA 58 and NFPA 54.
  • Perform leak checks, pressure tests, and safety inspections on new and existing systems.
  • Conduct tank set installations (above-ground and underground), ensuring compliance with clearance and code requirements.
  • Replace or adjust regulators, valves, and pigtails as needed.
  • Install and service propane-fueled appliances such as water heaters, ranges, and heating systems.
  • Respond to out-of-gas calls, leak reports, and emergency service requests in a timely, professional manner.
  • Document all service activities accurately — including test results, tank serial numbers, and work performed.
  • Educate customers on safe propane use, odor recognition, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and service truck in safe working order.
  • Comply with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and all state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs (CETP, state licensing, safety refreshers).
