About The Position

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking customer-oriented, motivated individuals to join their professional team as Propane Drivers. This role involves delivering and filling propane to customer sites, ensuring safety and accuracy in all deliveries. Requirements

  • Valid Class 3 or 1 driver's license with air endorsement and a clean or satisfactory drive's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
  • 3 to 5+ years of LPG/propane delivery experience.
  • Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working overtime / on-call, especially throughout peak season (October to April).
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
  • Available and willing to work overtime when required, particularly during peak seasonal demand (winter months).
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
  • Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
  • Ability to identify and describe mechanical issues on the truck/trailer.
  • Very customer-oriented with a professional and courteous attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering / filling propane for deliveries to customer sites.
  • Ensure propane is secure per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
  • Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
  • Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
  • Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites
  • Double-check deliveries to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
  • Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify and advise of any mechanical issues.
  • Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
  • Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.
