About The Position

The Prop Styling/Studio Assistant helps maintain the organization and inventory of the prop room and supports the Prop Manager, propping team, and photographers at the Des Moines Content Studios. The role supports home and food shoots and requires taking direction from a variety of team members. The assistant may also perform prop pulling and styling services when appropriate.

This is an entry-level agency worker assignment averaging 16–32 hours per week. The schedule varies with the needs of the photo studio, so maintaining and tracking a flexible schedule is essential. The assignment is on-site in Des Moines, Iowa, begins November 16, 2026, and is scheduled for six months with potential to extend. The hourly rate is $18–$20.

• Be able to maintain accurate financial records and file expense reports.
• Maintain and track a flexible schedule that varies according to studio needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the prop resource.
• Return props to their original storage locations after shoots.
• Support Senior and Associate Prop Stylists with photo and video shoot preparation, execution, and cleanup.
• Run errands, research props, and assemble or lift furniture and other prop items as needed.
• Pull props for digital shoots under close supervision of the Prop Stylists and Prop Manager.
• Assist the team of photographers as needed.
• Perform prop pulling and styling services when appropriate.
