About The Position

This position will create props for the Festival Season, assist the shop in organization and coordination of props for shows, and work in the theaters to run and changeover productions. The role involves working with other members of the run crew to execute theatrical productions and manage changeovers between them. While typically based in the Anes Studio theater, the work may occur in any space as needed for the season's requirements, generally between July 1 and early October. Key responsibilities include building, procuring, and preparing props for all productions each Festival season, coordinating props for an average of three shows per season, adhering to all SUU and USF policies and procedures for procurement and safety, and performing prop shop maintenance. This includes working with the Assistant Props Director on warehouse upkeep and inventory management. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Theater
• General Knowledge of prop skills, including but not limited to: upholstery, soft goods, carpentry, metal working, ephemera creation.
• Experience running theatrical production as a member of the run-crew.
• Experience with scenic and prop changeovers between theatrical productions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience Prop coordination in theatrical productions.
• Organization/inventory control particularly with FileMaker databases
• Experience with Google suite.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs.

Responsibilities

• Create props for the Festival Season.
