About The Position

As the Projects 1 Technician you will support resort operations by executing project based maintenance tasks that require a diverse set of trade skills, including drywall, painting, texture finishing, plumbing, electrical work, and flooring repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on trade & maintenance experience in a resort or commercial environment.
  • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
  • Must communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license to drive company golf carts.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Complete engineering projects, guest service calls, blitzes, and preventative maintenance activities as directed by resort leadership.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures and piping systems.
  • Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues, including receptacles, lighting components, and ballasts.
  • Perform repairs on household appliances and general fixtures.
  • Apply working knowledge of HVAC systems to conduct basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Repair interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and coverings, including painting, texturing, and caulking.
  • Install and repair flooring materials such as tile, grout, vinyl, and carpet.
  • Assist with pool and spa operations, including chemical balancing, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
  • Participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure tools and materials are readily available.
  • Utilize resort systems and software such as HotSOS to manage tasks and workflow efficiently.
  • Communicate professionally via radio, phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Perform custodial and general maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Safely operate hand tools and power equipment required for the job.
  • Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts while following proper safety protocols.
  • Identify and report potential safety or security concerns on property.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by actively listening and responding to guest needs.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Represent Westgate Resorts professionally in appearance, conduct, and communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by resort operations leadership.
