About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Project Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineer to join our dynamic Water Business Line in Southern California. In this role, you will lead and support the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater pipeline projects for municipal, utility, and private sector clients. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering (or related discipline)
  • 6-12 years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of water and/or wastewater pipeline projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proven experience coordinating with public agencies, utilities, and permitting authorities

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., InfoWater, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS)
  • Experience with trenchless technologies, condition assessment, and rehabilitation of pipelines
  • Experience supporting or leading construction administration
  • Background in sustainability, climate resilience, and integrating digital tools (e.g., BIM 360, ArcGIS)
  • Active involvement in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, AWWA, WEF)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design and delivery of water and wastewater pipeline projects, encompassing feasibility studies, preliminary and final design, as well as construction support.
  • Develop alignments, perform hydraulic calculations, and prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for water, sewer, and recycled water pipelines.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for clients, attend meetings and support business development activities.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams that include civil, structural, environmental, and construction management professionals.
  • Ensure that all deliverables meet Arcadis’ quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
