About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Project Water Wastewater Engineer to join their Resilience Water Team in Virginia or Maryland. This role focuses on tackling water issues such as quality, scarcity, reuse, management, and resilience by developing sustainable solutions. The engineer will collaborate with experienced professionals to support, manage, and drive project development, interact with clients, and enhance their technical and professional capabilities.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in engineering and consulting, primarily related to the municipal water market.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • PE License.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about technical challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of experience in engineering and consulting, primarily related to the municipal water/wastewater market.
  • 2 years of experience in local municipal water/wastewater markets.
  • Master of Science or Master of Engineering in a related field.
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead tasks and projects for the planning, design, and construction of Water/Wastewater distribution/collection systems, pump stations, and/or treatment plants.
  • Develop design and construction documents, including reports, technical memoranda, and specifications.
  • Provide support in construction administration of projects.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams, requiring strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Serve as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager on projects, overseeing critical tasks and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Develop scopes of work and budgets.
  • Support client teams by identifying, tracking, and positioning for new opportunities.
  • Participate in pursuit capture planning for new project opportunities and assist in proposal preparation.
  • Perform local travel for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning, or to oversee construction activities.
