Arcadis is seeking a Project Water Quality Engineer to join their National Resilience Water Team in Hanover, Maryland. This role will serve as a technical expert in water quality and water treatment, supporting the national Lead and Copper and PFAS team by providing regulatory guidance and technical direction for drinking water compliance. The position involves supporting national leaders in implementing National Primary Drinking Water Regulations, with a specific focus on water quality management and emerging contaminants like PFAS and disinfection byproducts (DBPs). The role will contribute to strategic initiatives and projects addressing complex water quality challenges, including source and finished water characterization, sampling and monitoring, treatment optimization, corrosion control, lead service line management, and public communication. A key aspect of the role is advancing PFAS and emerging contaminant initiatives, assisting utilities with regulatory readiness, risk assessment, and the implementation of treatment and management strategies. This includes supporting pilot testing, evaluating technologies (e.g., GAC, IX, membrane treatment), and using data for decision-making to meet evolving regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilities include conducting technical research on water quality solutions, analyzing water quality policies, preparing project scopes, work plans, budgets, and schedules, and mentoring junior staff. The role also involves communicating technical information to clients and colleagues, supporting marketing efforts, and submitting abstracts for drinking water conferences, with potential for presentations. Travel for project site visits, client meetings, or conferences may be required.
