About The Position

Pinchin is seeking a Project Technician to join our LUST (Field Services) team in Berkley, MI. The role reports to the Senior Project Associate. The Field Services department plays a critical role in assessing, protecting, and improving the environments where clients live and work. The team conducts soil, water, vapor, and other media sampling; oversees soil borings and monitoring well installations; and provides on-site oversight during tank removals, excavations, and demolitions. They also support remediation system installations, surveying, and mapping activities, while collaborating closely with groups such as the Site Investigation Services (SIS) team. Through accurate data collection and practical field expertise, the department helps clients make informed decisions that enhance environmental quality and advance Pinchin’s mission of creating safer, healthier communities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 0-3 years of consulting experience or relevant field experience
  • Comfortable operating trucks and trailers.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to read technical specifications, drawings, and reports
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle. Work-related travel is compensated.
  • Willing and able to travel to job sites.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions.
  • Availability to work outside core business hours. Overtime is a requirement of the position.
  • Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to pass a company physical.

Nice To Haves

  • a bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of field tasks, including sampling soil, water, vapor, and other media.
  • Oversee soil boring advancement and the installation of monitoring wells.
  • Provide oversite for the removal of leaking underground storage tanks, as well as excavations and demolitions.
  • Assist with remediation system installations and maintenance.
  • Conduct surveying and mapping activities.
  • Provide field support to other teams, including the Site Investigation Services (SIS) team.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
