Project Technician - Fire

About The Position

MSS Fire and Security, LLC is hiring a Project Technician for fire safety systems. The role installs and certifies fire safety product lines, supports quality and safety standards, and modifies, repairs, and programs existing systems to keep them operational. The technician works with customers, general contractors, and the Project Management team, completes assignments on time, and supports emergency service callouts on a rotational basis. Other duties may be assigned by the Company.

Requirements

Two years of experience in commercial or industrial fire alarm systems.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
Ability to read and interpret technical and parts manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
Experience using hand tools and a multimeter.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work on lifts and ladders.
Must possess hand tools.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform installation and certification of fire safety product lines.
Guide the installation process and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Add devices to existing systems and certify systems after modifications.
Make minor repairs and programming changes to keep systems operational and reliable.
Interact with customers or general contractors to ensure work is performed as expected.
Communicate schedule availability, material needs, and job-related issues to the Project Management team.
Complete assigned tasks on time.
Support emergency service callouts on a rotational basis.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Company.
