The Project Technician performs skilled painting functions for a commercial or industrial building or facility, often working independently but also in conjunction with other building trades on projects, repairs, maintenance, upgrades, remodeling, and emergency situations. This role involves daily interior cleaning of the building, including emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal, vacuuming/shampooing floors and carpets, dusting and cleaning furniture, cleaning and restocking restrooms, washing walls, polishing, mopping floors, placing down mats/runners in inclement weather, cleaning up spills, and cleaning windows and window coverings, all in accordance with established procedures and supervisor directives. The technician may also perform exterior building and premises cleaning and basic maintenance, such as cleaning exterior walls and windows, parking lots, walkways, gardens, and outdoor furnishings. Additionally, the role may involve assisting with minor maintenance and repair work, including painting, replacing light bulbs and fixtures, replacing windows, moving furniture and equipment, repairing doors and gates, minor landscaping, and simple plumbing repairs. Other duties may include gardening, lawn care, assisting with inventory control and supply ordering, snow removal, and tenant moves. The technician is expected to promptly notify management of spills, emergency situations, and any observable safety issues or repair needs. Proper and safe use of equipment, tools, devices, and chemical/cleaning agents is required to efficiently perform duties and prevent harm.
