About The Position

GAI is seeking a Project Technical Specialist 1 (transmission line) to join our Power Delivery team. This position can have the ability to work remote or a hybrid schedule. The role involves completing day-to-day project tasks for successful project delivery, including preparation of specification packages, structural and fabrication drawings, design and analysis of transmission lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Tower, and foundation design and analysis. It also includes analyzing existing and proposed structures against client and other required codes, standards, and specifications, performing electrical clearance checks and calculations, and coordinating/developing permits for railroads, roadways, and environmental crossings. The specialist will apply engineering principles to assist in the design of Power Delivery Projects, demonstrating attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role also serves as a technical advisor, staying informed of new developments, developing new techniques, and analyzing the sustainable performance of complex engineering projects. Project and Task Management responsibilities include overseeing a project team, planning and coordinating documents/activities for major projects or programs, analyzing project management plans, understanding project delivery uncertainties, and reviewing operational procedures for compliance. General characteristics involve applying thorough knowledge of engineering principles, resolving crucial issues, leading programs or major projects, analyzing complex problems, and analyzing ethical dilemmas. Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership involve applying strategic and persuasive communication principles, representing the organization, interacting with leaders and clients, integrating teamwork and leadership concepts (including justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion), and considering social equity and environmental impact. Supervisory responsibilities include receiving administrative supervision and providing mentored experience to senior staff, fostering professional attitudes and creativity in staff.

Responsibilities

  • Complete day-to-day project tasks as required for successful project delivery.
