About The Position

Atwell is seeking a Project Surveyor to join their growing Reno team. This role is ideal for a survey professional working towards their PLS, who enjoys transforming field data into accurate survey deliverables, solving complex boundary and title challenges, and supporting projects that shape communities and infrastructure. The position offers the chance to work alongside experienced survey leaders, strengthen technical expertise, and gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of land development, infrastructure, utility, renewable energy, and transportation projects. The Project Surveyor will play a key role in delivering survey projects from data processing through final mapping, with mentorship and support provided for professional licensure.

Requirements

  • LSIT certification preferred.
  • CST Level II or III certification preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and survey drafting workflows.
  • Experience processing survey field data and preparing survey mapping deliverables.
  • Understanding of boundary surveying principles, title research, and legal descriptions.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and continue progressing toward professional licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field - NOT REQUIRED

Responsibilities

  • Process field survey data, LiDAR, and 3D point cloud data to create high-quality survey deliverables.
  • Develop boundary, topographic, site, and ALTA/NSPS surveys using Civil 3D and related survey software.
  • Prepare surfaces, contours, utility mapping, and site feature exhibits.
  • Research deeds, title commitments, easements, and public records to support boundary determinations.
  • Draft legal descriptions and easement exhibits.
  • Perform quality reviews of survey plats, drawings, and project deliverables.
  • Calculate and prepare stakeout information, alignments, and construction survey deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with field crews, project managers, and survey leadership to ensure project success.
  • Assist with project planning, task coordination, scheduling, and quality management.
  • Contribute to a team culture focused on technical excellence, continuous learning, and professional growth.
