About The Position

The Project Superintendent is responsible for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating subcontractors, material, and equipment. They ensure that specifications are strictly followed and that work proceeds on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent is responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Requirements

  • A working knowledge of Construction methods, safety, scheduling, quality assurance, plans and specifications, estimating, bidding, and project documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, materials, means and methods.
  • Must be able to manage tight deadlines and the responsibility of accurately forecasting the budget for a project.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, well organized, and able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • OSHA Training

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction science, Construction management preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact with owners/ architects/ engineers/ subcontractors for the day-to-day construction activities of the project.
  • Develop and implement overall project work schedules, identifying the critical path, including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
  • Develop and manage the overall site safety program as required and ensure subcontractor compliance with standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Manage and make decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels.
  • Oversee work among all trades to promote a coordinated project operation.
  • Act as liaison to inspection agencies.
  • Manage the General Conditions and General Requirements for the project to maintain budget.
  • Manage the billing process as it relates to work in place and oversee the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Manage the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
  • Collaborate with Estimating/Preconstruction Team on the project schedule, logistics, safety, constructability reviews, general conditions, and general requirements.
  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness.
  • Work in occupied spaces.
