About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Project Specialist to join our team Remotely. This role involves managing and maintaining multiple laboratory billing Workqueues (WQs) in Epic to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution. The specialist will also be responsible for reviewing, updating, and maintaining billing training materials, workflow documentation, and process guides. A key aspect of the role is to monitor and interpret CMS billing guidelines and payer policy updates, translating necessary changes into workflow updates and training materials. Collaboration with laboratory teams, billing teams, and HHS leadership is essential to identify workflow gaps and implement corrective actions. The role requires clear, professional communication across departments, including escalation of issues and sharing of process updates, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation, billing tasks, and communication.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years or more medical billing experience
  • 2 years or more of experience in a clinical laboratory environment

Nice To Haves

  • Current or prior Labcorp experience
  • Experience updating or developing workflow documentation and training materials
  • Strong familiarity with laboratory workflows, particularly reference and send‑out testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain accuracy in complex workflows
  • Working knowledge of CMS billing rules, medical necessity requirements, and payer guidelines
  • Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across departments
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyze workflow issues.
