About The Position

The Project Specialist – Operations Excellence & Training leads plant programs that strengthen operational performance, team member development, and sustainable learning. Serving as the operational excellence subject matter expert, this role applies continuous improvement methodologies, a growth mindset, and best practices to create tools, implement programs, align department goals with Supply Chain pillars, measure progress, analyze results, and ensure objectives are achieved and deadlines are met.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the plant’s training strategy, annual learning plan, and sustainable role-based learning roadmaps aligned with business priorities and Supply Chain pillars.
  • Assess organizational, departmental, and individual capability needs in partnership with plant leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Design, implement, and maintain onboarding, technical, safety, quality, compliance, leadership, and continuous improvement training programs.
  • Establish curriculum standards, qualification requirements, training matrices, certification processes, and refresher-training schedules.
  • Create, review, and govern accurate training materials, standard work, job aids, facilitator guides, and digital learning content.
  • Manage the training calendar, program milestones, resources, and priorities to ensure learning commitments and deadlines are met.
  • Lead train-the-trainer programs and coach leaders, trainers, and subject matter experts to deliver consistent, effective instruction.
  • Facilitate classroom, hands-on, and blended learning experiences that support safe, high-quality, and reliable plant operations.
  • Administer training systems and records, monitor completion and qualification status, and maintain documentation for audit and compliance readiness.
  • Define program metrics, analyze learning effectiveness and operational impact, report progress, and implement corrective actions when performance is below target.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies, employee feedback, and peer-plant best practices to strengthen training programs and standardize effective approaches.
  • Partner with Operations, People, Safety, Quality, Engineering, and other functions to support new processes, equipment, systems, and organizational changes through effective learning solutions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, knowledge transfer, and frontline capability ownership across the plant.
