Cedars-Sinai’s Sasine Laboratory in the Department of Medicine is seeking a Project Scientist to work independently and in cooperation with Principal Investigator Joshua Sasine, MD, PhD, making significant and creative contributions to research. The laboratory develops treatments for blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, MDS, and multiple myeloma, and investigates how interactions between cancer cells and the microenvironment affect cancer progression. Its research focuses on developing novel CAR T-cell therapies and understanding how the microenvironment affects immune cell therapy and cancer. The Project Scientist may be an ongoing member of a research team or may contribute high-level skills to a specific research program for a limited period. The role generally includes conducting research and managing day-to-day laboratory operations under the supervision of a member of the Professorial Series. Project Scientists are not required to conduct independent research or develop an independent research reputation, and they have no teaching responsibilities. Appointees on an academic trajectory are expected to devote some time to developing an independent range of research.
