About The Position
We are seeking a Project Safety Director to take full command of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) on a high-risk, $1B+ construction project. This role involves leading a team of 4-10 safety representatives, collaborating with senior project leadership, and establishing the safety standard for a significant regional build. This is a command post position for experienced safety professionals looking to lead at a high level on a career-defining project.
Requirements
- 13+ years of construction safety experience
- Bachelor's in Safety or related field, or equivalent combo of education/training/experience
- Proven management experience, you know how to delegate and direct a team
- Deep incident investigation expertise
- OSHA 30
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- CHST (or willing to obtain within 6 months)
- Comfortable with MS Office and EHS software platforms
Nice To Haves
- Experience leading safety on Mega projects ($500M+)
- Experience leading safety on Data centers
- Experience leading safety on Heavy civil projects
- Experience leading safety on Industrial or manufacturing expansions
- Experience leading safety on Mission critical facilities
Responsibilities
- Own EH&S strategy and execution for the entire project site
- Lead and mentor a team of 4-10 safety representatives
- Direct and lead incident investigations from start to resolution
- Set the vision, goals, and continuous improvement strategy alongside senior leadership
- Build a best-in-class safety culture that becomes the project standard
- Manage safety budget, staffing, and resource allocation
