About The Position

The Project Safety Adviser supports specific data center project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and the overall safety culture is enhanced. The role oversees safety on complex electrical structures and construction projects, including OSHA compliance, contractor and subcontractor competency, and the review and implementation of construction health and safety procedures. The position is based in Richmond, Virginia. No travel, per diem, or relocation is offered.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of construction safety experience.
• Formal qualifications in construction health and safety management.
• Extensive experience communicating with contractors and liaising with design teams and other project professionals.
• Advanced experience working on data center or mission-critical builds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field.
• Owner's Representative experience.
• NFPA 70e.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of complex electrical structures and construction projects, ensuring OSHA compliance.
• Consult with executive management on contractor safety plans and ensure they are implemented for each project.
• Review and oversee construction Health & Safety management procedures.
• Attend safety department and management meetings, training workshops, and daily activity briefings.
• Oversee subcontractors and contractors, ensuring their competency.
• Encourage and promote Health & Safety initiatives aimed at influencing positive safety behavior on all projects.
