About The Position

The Projects Planner directly supports Nordex's mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. In this role, you will lead project planning activities for turbine supply projects across North America, ensuring successful coordination between internal teams, customers, contractors, and global stakeholders. You will develop and maintain project schedules, monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide critical reporting and analysis that supports successful project execution from project activation through take-over.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Planner supporting wind, energy, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex project schedules and critical path analyses.
  • Knowledge of project execution, logistics planning, construction sequencing, and project controls.
  • Understanding of project budgeting, cost tracking, contracts, and delay claim analysis.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of initiative, accountability, integrity, and results orientation.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Fluency in English required; French language skills are considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% as business needs require.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination if required for the position.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver's license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver's abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Properly use applicable safety equipment, including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, and hard hats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

  • Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage project planning activities for North American turbine supply projects from activation through project completion.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Coordinate planning activities with project managers, site teams, logistics, contractors, customers, and global planning functions.
  • Monitor project progress, performance, milestones, and critical paths, identifying schedule risks and recovery strategies.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and daily project reports, including progress reporting, delay analysis, and schedule updates.
  • Analyze project scopes, including manufacturing, logistics, site construction, commissioning, and project execution activities.
  • Evaluate schedule impacts related to delays, claims, change orders, and extension-of-time requests.
  • Develop short-term and long-term planning scenarios to support project success and mitigate risks.
  • Track planning buffers and proactively communicate schedule concerns and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Identify logistics, material, and supply chain constraints that may impact project schedules and coordinate resolution efforts.
  • Support Project Managers and Contract Managers with delay claims, schedule analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Analyze bottlenecks, construction sequencing, resource utilization, crane movements, weather impacts, and other schedule-critical factors.
  • Collaborate across project management, operations, logistics, back-office, and site execution teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Present schedule updates, forecasts, and recommendations to leadership and project stakeholders.
